Terms of Use
Last updated: May 19, 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using MXHelper (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time — see "Changes to these terms" below.
2. What MXHelper is
MXHelper is a free, informational tool that performs DNS and email-authentication lookups for a domain you enter, explains the results in plain language, and suggests configuration records and fix steps. There is no account, no login, and no fee. It is a self-service diagnostic aid — not a managed service, and not a substitute for professional advice.
3. Informational use only — not professional advice
Everything the Service produces — diagnostic results, explanations, health scores, generated SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, and step-by-step fix instructions — is general information provided for your convenience. It is not professional, legal, security, or deliverability advice, and it does not create any advisory or contractual relationship between you and us.
DNS and email configurations vary enormously between domains, providers, and organizations. The Service works only from the limited data it can query publicly and from the options you select. It cannot see your complete environment, your provider's internal setup, the history of your existing records, or your business requirements. A suggested record or instruction that is correct in general may be wrong, incomplete, or harmful for your specific situation.
4. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for any change you make to your DNS, domain, email, or related configuration. The Service never makes changes for you — it only shows information and suggestions. Before you apply anything you see here, you should:
- confirm that a suggested record or setting is correct and complete for your specific provider and setup;
- record or export your existing records first, so you can revert if needed;
- make sure the domain, selector, provider, and other inputs you entered or selected are accurate — wrong input or a wrong selection will produce wrong output;
- test after the change, and allow time for DNS propagation before relying on the result.
Generated records — such as SPF, DKIM, or DMARC values — are starting-point templates, not validated final configurations. Misconfigured DNS or email-authentication records can disrupt or block your email. If you are unsure, consult your mail or DNS provider, or a qualified professional, before making changes.
5. "As is" — no warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including, without limitation, warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that its results are accurate or current. DNS data can be cached, delayed, incomplete, or inconsistent across the internet, and results may differ from the real state of your domain.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MXHelper and its operator will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including, without limitation, loss of email delivery, lost or corrupted data, lost revenue, lost business, downtime, or reputational harm — arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, or your reliance on anything it produces, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability or right that cannot be limited or excluded under the mandatory consumer-protection or other laws that apply to you. Where such laws apply, our liability is limited to the minimum extent those laws permit.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes, and not to:
- overload, disrupt, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- use automated means to scrape the Service or place an unreasonable load on it;
- use the Service to attack, scan, or harass domains or systems you do not own or do not have permission to test;
- use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or the rights of others.
We may rate-limit, block, or discontinue access for anyone who misuses the Service.
8. Third-party services, links, and advertising
The Service relies on and links to third parties — for example public DNS resolvers, Cloudflare, Google Analytics, and Google AdSense. It may also display advertising and link to external websites. We do not control, and are not responsible for, third-party content, products, websites, or practices, and a link or advertisement is not an endorsement. Your use of any third-party service is subject to that party's own terms. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
9. Intellectual property
The Service's design, text, code, and branding are owned by its operator and protected by applicable law. You may use the Service for its intended purpose; you may not copy wholesale, rebrand, or redistribute the Service or its content as your own.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is offered on a best-effort basis and may be changed, suspended, limited, or discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, without notice. We are not obligated to maintain any particular feature, result, or page.
11. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Your continued use of the Service after revised terms are posted means you accept them.
12. Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country or region where you live.
